Charles Taliaferro is a Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at St. Olaf College, USA, specializing in Ethics and Metaphysics with a focus on Philosophy of Religion and Philosophy of Mind. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. from Brown University, M.T.S. from Harvard, M.A. from the University of Rhode Island, and B.A. from Goddard College. He has given lectures at Oxford, Cambridge, St. Andrews, Yale, Princeton, Columbia University, the University of Chicago and many more.
Professor Taliaferro is the author or editor of numerous books, including Evidence and Faith; Philosophy and religion since the seventeenth century and Consciousness and the Mind of God (Cambridge University Press), the first and second edition of The Blackwell Companion to Philosophy of Religion, and the Routledge Companion to Theism. He is co-editor of a six volume History of Evil involving 130 scholars for Acumen Press. His papers have appeared in Analysis, Philosophy (UK), the Philosophical Quarterly, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, and elsewhere. He has served on the editorial boards of the American Philosophical Quarterly, Religious Studies, Sophia, the Philosophy of Religion editor for Philosophy Compass and the Blackwell Religious Studies Review, and he has worked as the book review editor for Faith and Philosophy since 2000. He has served on several national American Philosophical Association committees, and is a member of the American Academy of Religion and the British Society for Philosophy of Religion.
