Miroslaw Wyszynski is a Professor and Chair of Novel Vehicle Technology and Applied Thermodynamics at the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Birmingham. He received his MEng and PhD from Warsaw University of Technology, and taught at its Institute of Heat Engineering as Senior Lecturer. He also founded the Future Power Systems Group, a fuel research centre that works closely with car and engine manufacturers such as Jaguar Land Rover, Ford and Shell Global Solutions to reduce harmful vehicle exhaust emissions.

Moreover, Professor Wyszynski holds the Gold Badge of Honour of the Federation of Polish Technical Institutions (NOT) and the Gold Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland. He is an Honorary Professor at the Polish University Abroad in London (PUNO) and he is involved with numerous professional and academic organisations, such as the Society of Automotive Engineers in the UK, the European Scientific Society of Powertrain and Transport KONES, and the Institution of Polish Engineers in Great Britain (STP w WB). With more than 140 academic articles to his name, he is also a member of the editorial board for the likes of Combustion Engines and Polish Maritime Research.
