Fields of interest:

  • My research focuses on structure and dynamics of the deep earth, from the crust to the inner core. With graduate students and post-docs, we tackle both
    theoretical wave propagation problems in complex 3D media, forward modeling and tomographic inversion for elastic as well as anelastic and anisotropic structure. We also study global
    seismic moment release and its relation to plate tectonics as well as global earthquake scaling laws. Recently, we have also studied the Earth’s low frequency „hum”.
