De Gruyter Open is excited to announce a groundbreaking publishing initiative. Central European Journal of Medicine  (CEJMed) is now becoming open access, which means freely available to everyone, anywhere in the world.  Starting with volume 2015, CEJMed will provide our users with free, instant, and permanent access to all content worldwide. This is a fantastic opportunity for our authors, since we can now guarantee the widest possible readership for their works – including a new generation of readers, both inside and outside the field of medicine. Hence very soon, we aim for CEJMed to become a major high-impact journal in the world of medicine.

As the most important aspect of the journal has always been the quality of its published research, we are happy to confirm that CEJMed will maintain its practice of detailed and critical peer review, as well as its extensive editorial involvement throughout the publication process. CEJMed will also explore new ways to distribute its content, thus making it much more visible to the academic community. As a result, not only are we confident that CEJMed will continue to maintain the high standard of scholarship it currently enjoys, but we expect this new opportunity to attract increasingly exciting research in volumes to come.

Moreover, it must be pointed out that the preparation of a peer-reviewed, edited, and formatted article for online publication, - and hosting it on a server that remains accessible around the clock - is not without costs. These expenses will be covered by Article Processing Charges, which are paid by the author’s funder, sponsor or affiliated institution. Manuscripts accepted for publication in CEJMed will be subject to Article Processing Charges of 1500 EUR. However, it is important to remember that authors from countries where no such funding schemes are in place will be given the opportunity to publish in the journal free of charge.

Finally, please note that due to a significant backlog of manuscripts, all new submissions to CEJMed will be considered for publication in the 2015 volume.

Why publish with Versita?

  • every author receives fast, fair and comprehensive peer-review and publishing service
  • authors from non-English speaking regions, if necessary, receive extra assistance: we improve English language, structure and technical format of their submissions
  • this journal has been on the ISI Master Journal List since the first issue
  • the journal is distributed and marketed by Springer, that is why has been made available for a few thousand libraries accessing SpringerLink
  • we promote each published paper to hundreds of researchers working in the same field

If the authors want to submit a new article they should use existing account and upload the manuscript as a new one.

In case of any technical problems, please contact the Managing Editor of the Central European Journal of Medicine (Inga Markiewicz, imarkiewicz@versita.com).

Transfer of Copyright Agreement

Submission of a manuscript indicates a tacit understanding that the paper is not actively under consideration for publication with other journals. Once the paper is accepted, authors are assumed to have transferred the copyright of the paper to the publisher, Versita.
